Hey Y’all!
Let’s talk about sustainability. If you’ve ordered from my website, you may have noticed that we don’t use custom packaging or fancy boxes. While those are pretty, I don’t want to create unnecessary waste, especially when it will just be thrown away. That being said, we use nearly 100% recycled materials for packing and shipping, courtesy of awesome Fayetteville residents!
For the last two years, I have been collecting shipping supplies from local friends and family. Those boxes are what your goods are shipped in! This allows us to do our part in reusing and save some money too.
Candles by Whitney does some other things for sustainability too! Our studio space is located partially underground. We save tons of electricity during the hot and cold months due to the natural insulation that comes with an “earth studio.”
All our candle pouring pots are second-hand as well as all of our mason jar candles (they are only available online & perfect for avid candle-burners).
Lastly, Candles by Whitney utilizes a hybrid vehicle that averages about 45 miles per gallon!
I will continue to incorporate new ways of sustainability and I would love any tips y’all have to do this!
I hope you’re having a good week. <3
P.S. You can recycle mason jars, candle tins and reed diffuser (big) jars for $$ off your next purchase. Recycling can be done at the Fayetteville Farmers Market on Saturdays from 7-1:30.
